The salsa lineup

Chihaba HomeMade Original Salsa jar

Original

The one everybody started with. Bright, tomatoey, just enough kick.

MILD · EVERYDAY

Chihaba HomeMade Chili Rico Salsa jar

Chili Rico

Deeper and rounder — roasted chiles doing the heavy lifting.

MEDIUM · RICH

Chihaba HomeMade Chipotle Salsa jar

Chipotle

Smoked chipotle warmth. Great on eggs, better on a taco.

MEDIUM · SMOKY

Chihaba HomeMade Habanero Salsa jar

Habanero

For the heat-seekers. Fruity up front, serious on the finish.

HOT · FRUITY

Chihaba HomeMade Chili Piquin Salsa jar

Chili Piquin

Made with the little wild piquin pepper. Sneaky and bold.

HOT · WILD

Chihaba HomeMade Candied Jalapeños jar

Candied Jalapeños

Sweet, tangy, addictive. The jar that never makes it home.

SWEET HEAT · FAN FAVORITE

Salsa is best served chilled. It brings out the flavors. Serve with warm toasted chips.

Meet the maker

Keith's kitchen, bottled.

Chihaba started the way a lot of good things do — with friends asking Keith to please, please bottle that salsa. What began as jars handed across the back porch kept growing as folks came back for the Original, argued over which heat was best, and asked for an extra jar of candied jalapeños "for later."

Everything is still made by hand, in small batches, from recipes Keith has tuned over the years. His P.I.G. Pork Rib Rub won the Founders Day BBQ Cookoff in Dripping Springs two years running, and his Serrano Bloody Mary mix took Double Gold in New York City. But the proudest review is still the empty jar that comes back asking for a refill.
